This Privacy Policy explains how PickUp Play (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the PickUp Play mobile app and this website. By using PickUp Play, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account information: when you sign up, we collect your name or username and email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive basic profile information from that provider.
- Location data: with your permission, we use your device location to match you with games and players near you and to map your routes. You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
- Motion & fitness data: with your permission, we use motion and activity data to track runs, walks, and rides and to calculate your routes, pace, and PickUp Score.
- Health data: if you choose to connect Apple Health, we read only the activity data needed to power features you use. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
- Usage & device data: app interactions, device model, OS version, and diagnostic logs, used to operate and improve the app.
- Content you create: matches, routes, clans, and messages you generate in the app.
How we use your information
- To provide core features: matchmaking, route racing, your PickUp Score and streaks, clans, and social features.
- To send notifications you've enabled (for example, when a match is ready).
- To keep the service safe, prevent abuse, and comply with law.
- To understand usage and improve the app.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers (such as cloud hosting, analytics, and crash reporting) who process data on our behalf under contract.
- Other users, limited to what you choose to make visible (for example, your profile or clan activity). You control your privacy settings in the app.
- Legal authorities where required by law.
Your choices & rights
- Control location, motion, notifications, and Health permissions in iOS Settings → PickUp Play.
- Manage what's visible to other users in the app's privacy settings.
- Request a copy or deletion of your data by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA.
Data retention & security
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
PickUp Play is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy and will post the new version here with a revised date.
